Noted Authors Madhu Kankariya and Madhav Hada Have Been Awarded the Bihari Puraskar

On Wednesday, renowned authors Madhu Kankariya and Dr. Madhav Hada received the 31st and 32nd Bihari Puraskars, respectively.

One of the three literary awards established by the KK Birla Foundation in 1991 is the Bihari Puraskar. The award for authors from Rajasthan is named after the well-known poet Bihari and comes with a monetary reward of 2.5 lakh, a trophy, and a citation.

Hada received the Puraskar for his 2015 book of literary critique, "Pachrang Chola Pahar Sakhi Ri," while Kankariya received it for her 2018 book, "Hum Yahan The."

Indravardhan Trivedi, the vice-chancellor of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University in Udaipur, presented the honors to the writers during a function on the campus.

Every year, a Rajasthani author who has written an extraordinary book in Hindi or Rajasthani over the previous ten years is awarded the Bihari Puraskar. A selection committee led by chairman Hemant Shesh chooses the award.

Kankariya, who received the Bihari Puraskar in 2021, has published several novels, poetry, and pieces of prose. The difficulties of the tribal people of Jharkhand are the inspiration for her book, "Hum Yahan The." It also sheds light on Kolkata's culture, society, and economic situation.

"An honest kalam (pen) provides the average man a dream of a better life by standing hard against injustices and falsehoods. The author is the one who reveals to you the depth of the bond between dharti (the soil) and yoni (people)," Kankariya remarked.

The 65-year-old is the author of several works, including Pattakhor, Khule Gagan Ke Laal Sitaare, Salaam Aakhri, and Bhaari Dupahr Ke Andhere.

"She (Kankariya) wrote on the challenges and issues experienced by the tribal people of Jharkhand. At the event, Trivedi informed the crowd, "I am also witnessing the same, especially in tribal regions where the struggle of women is substantially larger.

Kankariya has already received the Pratham Vidya Sahitya Samman, Vijay Verma Katha Samman, Hemchandra Smriti Sahitya Samman, and Kathakram Puruskar awards.

Hada received the Bihari Puraskar 2022 for his significant contribution to literature, media, culture, and history. He is a literary critic and professor. He has also served on the Hindi Advisory Board and the Sahitya Akademi's general council.

Hada claimed that everyone was familiar with Meera from a young age while discussing his work. He claimed, "I studied Meera without any preconceived notions, but I felt that her experience needed to be understood.

Hada's "exceptional" career as a professor of Hindi at the institution was mentioned by Trivedi.

Suresh Rituparna, the head of the foundation, stated: "Since the awards program began in 1991, several notable individuals have received recognition.
